Wide-Biomarker Sensing Patch

Multi-Sensor Dermal Patch for Wide Biomarker Detection

The “Multi-Sensor Dermal Patch for Wide Biomarker Detection” uses three different types of sensors to detect a wide range of disease-related volatile biomarkers. First, it measures volatile biomarkers released from the skin using chemical sensors. Second, it monitors biomarkers in sweat through electrochemical sensors. Third, it detects biomarkers in interstitial fluid (the fluid between cells) with tiny, minimally invasive microneedle-based sensors. The patch uses AI-powered software to quickly analyze and classify the signals it receives. Results are sent wirelessly via Bluetooth within 5 minutes, offering fast and easy monitoring.

Due to its ability to detect a wide spectrum of biomarkers in a non- or minimally-invasive way, this technology could not only detect the targeted disease, but also derive information on the stage and genetic mutations of disease, i.e., help provide personalised recommendations for management. After diagnosis, this device can be provided to healthy or patients, so they can use it frequently, to monitor their health over long periods.
